The main WoW Forever News stories this fall revolve around the game’s launch on November 4, 2026. Blizzard has already closed the beta, and it has reverted some racial abilities to be role- and class-specific instead of providing general critical strike bonuses in the latest developer notes. You can build a plan for the first few weeks based on these changes and the release schedule.

Class changes in the latest beta builds and the final adjustments to racials are altering race and build choices. Orc Hunters and Warlocks will once again gain Command, which provides a damage bonus to their pets. Profession choices now also affect the group, as the new Camping system gives each profession its own buff or useful function at a shared campfire.

Final Racial Tuning Before Launch

Final Racial Tuning Before Launch

The latest news on WoW Forever concerns racial abilities. Blizzard published their final adjustments on October 26 in the beta development notes thread, although the test servers had already closed by that date. These notes serve as WoW Forever patch notes prior to the game’s launch. The developers also fixed some beta bugs via hotfixes between full builds.

Blizzard has collected the new racial values in a single post:

  • Human - The update reduced the critical strike chance from Ruthless to 1%. It raised Human Spirit to +10% Spirit in exchange.
  • Dwarf - Blizzard has removed Earth Fury and added Artisan’s Precision, which grants +1% to the chance to hit with spells and attacks.
  • Tauren - The cap on Plainsrunning has increased from 30% to 60% running speed. This bonus no longer increases mount speed.
  • Orc - Command returns with +5% damage for Hunter and Warlock pets. The October 27 update reduced the cooldown on Blood Fury to 2 minutes.
  • Skyborne - The Wind-Blessed haste bonus has dropped to 2%. Attuned and Charged buffs last for 1 hour and persist through the character’s death, provided the character has not yet entered a raid.
  • Troll and Undead - The same update extended Berserking to 15 seconds. Touch of the Grave’s internal cooldown has dropped to 15 seconds (down from 25).

Weapon specialization racials will not return in WoW Forever. Blizzard cites future loot tables for raids and dungeons as the reason. No single weapon type should become mandatory for Humans or Orcs in those tables. We recommend choosing a race based on your character’s role in the group, as the final update has restored racials with an emphasis on roles and classes.

WoW Forever News Timeline

WoW Forever News Timeline

Blizzard has set the release date for WoW Forever as November 4, 2026. Owners of the Skyborne and Warcraft Forever Collection editions can reserve names for three characters across all rulesets via Early Name Reservation until November 3. Blizzard added a new Roleplay-PvP ruleset to the launch in October, although the developers were skeptical about this format at first. Dates and formats for upcoming WoW Forever events:

EventDateFormat
Early Name ReservationOctober 27 – November 3Names for three characters
WoW Forever launchNovember 4Levels 1–60
Barrow DeepsDecember 910-player raid
Hyjal SummitDecember 920-player raid
Onyxia’s LairDecember 940-player raid
HardcoreAfter launchA separate ruleset

Blizzard plans to reset all three raids once a week. Onyxia’s Lair requires each of the 40 players to have a Drakefire Amulet in their inventory. The quest chain for this amulet for both factions leads through the Blackrock Mountain dungeons to a fight with General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire. That’s why it’s best to start your attunement before December 9. The roadmap after this date promises new raids and Hardcore mode.

What Dungeons and Camping Give Players

What Dungeons and Camping Give Players

Nine new dungeons open up content for groups starting at level 13. Blizzard increased experience from dungeon monsters by about 20% during the beta and reverted to calculating group experience based on each player’s level. The developers expect these changes to give most characters more experience in dungeons. Future WoW Forever updates will add new dungeons and quests for levels 1–60.

Camping transforms the Cooking Fire into a Basic Campfire with space for three profession items. You receive their buffs for 1 hour after resting or crafting at the campfire for 1 minute. These buffs replicate class effects like Blessing of Kings and do not stack with them. You create skill 140+ camp objects yourself after learning the Blueprint recipe from dungeon and raid loot. We believe that the first hotfixes after launch will also affect Camping, because the developers made changes to this system in several beta builds in September and October.
