WoW New Raid Kith'ix Guide

WoW new raid Kith'ix guide: Kith'ix the C'Thraxxi general facing Lady Liadrin

The WoW new raid in Patch 12.1.5 is called The Unbinding of Kith'ix and consists of a single boss encounter against the ancient C'Thraxxi Kith'ix. This fight drops loot on par with the late bosses of The Venomous Abyss, as well as Ascendant Venomstones starting on Heroic difficulty. To claim this loot, you'll need a route to the raid portal, a choice of difficulty, and knowledge of the mechanics for each phase and role, because each new intermission is harder than the last. Until the next raid (The Worldcore) is released, players aiming for the Ahead of the Curve seasonal achievement are heading to Heroic Ula'tek, since Kith'ix doesn't give it.

WoW New Raid in Patch 12.1.5

WoW new raid in patch 12.1.5: blood elf and Amani heroes of The Promise of Tomorrow

Blizzard launched the single-boss raid The Unbinding of Kith'ix on October 13, 2026, in Patch 12.1.5 (The Promise of Tomorrow) across all five difficulty levels. The current WoW raid tier consists of three instances (The Venomous Abyss, the Tidebound Grotto lair, and Kith'ix). Each kill gives loot at 3/6 on the upgrade track, and on Heroic and Mythic difficulties, it also gives an Ascendant Venomstone. Our team guides you through Heroic or Mythic Kith'ix in the WoW Unbinding of Kith'ix Boost and assembles a Heroic group every 2 hours for Group Loot - Next Raid Slot.

The new fight takes place in the C'Thraxxi's underground lair beneath The Venomous Abyss. Lady Liadrin fights alongside the players.

WoW Midnight Season 2 Raid Lineup

WoW Midnight Season 2 raid lineup: Ula'tek, Nymrissa Wavecaller and Kith'ix

Season 2, which began on August 18, 2026, now features three raid instances. Each WoW Midnight Season 2 raid differs in type, bosses, and unlock date:

RaidTypeBossesOpening DateMain Reward
The Venomous AbyssraideightAugust 18, 2026AOTC and Cutting Edge
Tidebound GrottolaironeAugust 11 (World)early-boss-level loot
The Unbinding of Kith'ixraidoneOctober 13, 2026cantrip armor and Ascendant Venomstone

All WoW raid bosses of the season count toward the Raids row of the Great Vault. Kith'ix drops loot on par with the late bosses of The Venomous Abyss (Vashnik the Malignant, Sszorak, and The Twin Fangs).

The Venomous Abyss Raid

Eight bosses on Coiled Isle make The Venomous Abyss the largest WoW Midnight raid of Season 2. Warcraft Wiki categorizes them by loot level:

Loot GroupBosses
EarlyNek'zali the Soulcoiler
MidEntombed Sentinels, Lost Explorers
LateVashnik, Sszorak, Twin Fangs
FinalThe Coiled Altar, Ula'tek

Our team will guide you through the full 8/8 Heroic run from Nek'zali to Ula'tek in the Heroic Venomous Abyss Boost. The final boss (Ula'tek) also drops Venomcursed items that enhance the Kith'ix cantrip armor.

Tidebound Grotto Lair

Tidebound Grotto is a lair (a single-boss instance featuring Nymrissa Wavecaller) located in the waters of Coiled Isle. The World difficulty first became available here during the week of August 11. Normal, Heroic, and Mythic modes opened on August 18. In this single-phase fight, the murlocs become stronger if they swim to the bubble in the center of the room. The whirlpools leave one safe spot while the 6-minute enrage timer counts down.

Who Is Kith'ix?

Who is Kith'ix: the C'Thraxxi general and his aqir invading Quel'Thalas

Kith'ix is a C'Thraxxi, a general of the Old Gods from the time of the Black Empire. Together with Zakajz, he fought Tyr for six days and nights until an explosion of Tyr's arcane and holy energy killed Zakajz and almost finished off Kith'ix.

The general was awakened centuries later by Xal'atath's dagger in the hand of the troll Zan'do and led the aqir of the Azj'Aqir underground empire against the trolls. To fight him, the Amani summoned the loa Ula'tek. Zul'Aman later rose on the site of the C'Thraxxi's demise. After Ula'tek's death in Patch 12.1, the aqir attacked Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman, as the loa's power had kept Kith'ix sealed.

Kith'ix Raid Entrance Location

Kith'ix raid entrance location in The Underbelly of the Vaults of Atal'Utek

On the map, The Unbinding of Kith'ix location is marked in the northeastern part of The Underbelly, at the northern end of the Vaults of Atal'Utek on Coiled Isle. Level 90 is required to enter. The path to the portal has four stages:

  1. Enter the Vaults of Atal'Utek through any of the three entrances.
  2. The path leads deep into the caves toward The Underbelly.
  3. In the far chamber of The Underbelly, find the staircase leading down, which was once blocked by a pool of poison.
  4. Once you descend the stairs, you'll see the portal at the back of the chamber.

You can access the Raid Finder via the Group Finder from anywhere in the world.

Story Mode Access

The NPC at the Kith'ix raid entrance in the back half of The Underbelly starts Story Mode. This difficulty takes you through the campaign's storyline in a short amount of time. Since the quest The Unbinding of Kith'ix counts a kill on any difficulty, Story Mode also completes it.

Difficulties and Raid Size

Kith'ix difficulties and raid size from Story Mode to Mythic

All five difficulties share the same loot table and differ in raid size, item track, and main reward:

  • Story Mode—this mode completes its quest.
  • Raid Finder—Group Finder assembles a raid of 25 players who receive loot on the Veteran track.
  • Normal—Champion track items drop for a flexible group of 10 to 30 players.
  • Heroic—a group of the same size takes Hero track loot and an Ascendant Venomstone from each kill.
  • Mythic—a flexible group of 15-25 players, instead of a fixed group of 20, takes Myth track loot and a Venomstone.

I recommend the flexible Mythic option for guilds without 20 members.

Lockouts and Bonus Rolls

A character can kill Kith'ix on all four difficulties with loot once per week, since each difficulty has its own lockout. A Mythic kill also locks you to the instance until the reset. I recommend setting your loot spec before the pull, since the bonus roll here gives an item for your current specialization.

Kith'ix Loot Table

Kith'ix loot table: Lu'selama, Light's Justice and the three role trinkets

Kith'ix drops ten items and three random collectible drops. Items are categorized by armor type, role, and stats:

This WoW raid loot is the same across all difficulty levels, though each has its own item level and track.

Item Level by Difficulty

Kith'ix loot drops at the 3/6 mark of its difficulty track and is on par with the late bosses of The Venomous Abyss. The item level and Mistcrest required for upgrading depend on the difficulty:

DifficultyItem LevelTrackUpgrade Crest
Raid Finder285Veteran 3/6Veteran Mistcrest
Normal298Champion 3/6Champion Mistcrest
Heroic311Hero 3/6Hero Mistcrest
Mythic324Myth 3/6Myth Mistcrest

Tooltips and overviews listing the number 344 (Myth 9/6) came from early PTR builds and are now outdated, as Blizzard lowered Mythic loot to Myth 3/6 following testing in September 2026.

Kith'ix Trinkets

This boss's three trinkets cover the tank, healer, and DPS roles:

  • Lightbearer's Shield Fragment - an on-use ability (available once every 3 minutes for tank specializations) creates consecrated ground for 10 seconds. While you're inside it, it grants a barrier and redirects to you 10% of the damage allies take while standing on it.
  • Sigil of the Impending Eclipse - healing has a chance to give Forestall the End for 15 seconds (Haste and additional Haste for every 1% of the target's missing health).
  • Twisted Horror's Tendril - damage has a very high chance to give stacks of Devastating Power (Critical Strike for 15 seconds). Every 5 seconds, the first hit on a new target gives 3 stacks.

I recommend using Tendril for DPS with frequent target switching, since Voidswarm adds and Incubation eggs provide new targets.

Weapons and Ring

The two-handed sword Lu'selama, Light's Justice, is a Strength-based weapon that has a chance to ignite from your damage for 10 seconds and gives Haste while the blade is burning. Attacks with the burning blade sometimes also deal Radiant damage. The one-handed sword Sanctified Knight's Phoenixblade is built for Intellect, while the Band of the Swarmcaller ring provides Haste and Mastery.

Cantrip Armor Pieces

Four armor pieces (ranging from Cloth to Plate) feature the Void Eruption cantrip. With this cantrip, your attacks have a chance to explode with Void energy and deal Shadow damage to nearby enemies. Damage increases by 15% if you're wearing at least one Venomcursed item from Ula'tek (a proc that boosts one secondary stat at the cost of a penalty to another). A hotfix on October 20, 2026, prevented Void Eruption from hitting targets you're not in combat with.

Kith'ix Hearthstone Toy and Decor

Two Hearthstones and two additional collectible items are associated with this boss:

ItemTypeHow to Obtain
Shadeweaver's Hearthstonetoy Hearthstonerandom drop
Hiveborne Hearthstonetoy Hearthstonequest reward
Kith'ix's Sealhome decorrandom drop
Libram of the Matriarchtoyrandom drop from Mythic

The Hiveborne Hearthstone from the quest The Unbinding of Kith'ix transforms you into a beetle. Libram of the Matriarch gives the Glyph of the Matriarch's Wings. The glyph changes the Paladin's Avenging Wrath wings to Lady Liadrin's wings.

Campaign Quest Rewards

The Promise of Tomorrow campaign begins with the quest The Aqir Swarm and leads to the quest The Unbinding of Kith'ix, which requires a kill on any difficulty. Rewards are granted in sequence:

  • The Unbinding of Kith'ix - this quest offers a choice of one Hero 1/6 item (either the Bloodmark Signet ring or the Pendant of Venomous Vigil necklace) and a Hiveborne Hearthstone.
  • In Victory, Grief - the reward is the cosmetic Shield of the Blood Knight Matriarch.
  • What the World Sees - you get the Blade of the Blood Knight Matriarch and the title Light's Faithful.

The chain then leads to the quest The Labyrinth.

Ascendant Venomstones and Great Vault

Ascendant Venomstones and Great Vault: Orin Straylight with an Ascendant Venomstone

Each kill of Kith'ix on Heroic and Mythic yields one Ascendant Venomstone, as does any Heroic or Mythic boss of the season. Ten stones at the Catalyst in Silvermoon City upgrade a weapon, trinket, or necklace beyond its track (if it is maxed out or is a maximum-quality Tidal Crafted item) and mark it as Ascendant Voidforged. The quest Ascending with Venomstones from Orin Straylight became available the week of October 20, when Blizzard also removed the crest cap. These stones drop in various activities:

  • Raid bosses - Method lists eight stones for a full Heroic Venomous Abyss run and two more for Nymrissa Wavecaller and Kith'ix.
  • Mythic+ - each key at +10 or higher yields one stone.
  • Bountiful Delves—Tier 11 delves also drop stones.
  • Nightmare Prey—stones can be found in Champion chests from the first two hunts of the week.

Kith'ix also counts toward the Raids row of the Great Vault, although the first slot requires two bosses from the current season. I'd spend the stones on items that last a long time, since an item can't be upgraded further once it's been upgraded.

Kith'ix Boss Mechanics Explained

Kith'ix boss mechanics explained: a raid group charging Kith'ix in his void lair

WoW's new raid boss, Kith'ix, fights in two phases and enters an intermission at 100 energy. Phase 1 and the intermission alternate until 25% health, after which Phase 2 begins:

StageStartMain ThreatEnd
Phase 1pullVoidswarm adds100 energy or 25%
Intermission100 energySuffocating DarknessDivine Radiance
Phase 225% healthEightfold Eclipsekill or eighth eclipse

The soft enrage in Phase 1 makes each subsequent intermission more difficult. The hard enrage in Phase 2 occurs on the eighth Eightfold Eclipse.

Raid Setup and Utility

Method assembles a 20-player raid for this fight (two tanks, four healers, and 14 DPS). The following utility is required for the mechanics:

UtilityMechanics
Grip (DK or equivalent)Bomber Beetles
DispelOverwhelming Fear
Immunities and defensivesExtinguish

Method casts Bloodlust in Phase 2, which begins at 25% health.

Lady Liadrin's Role

Lady Liadrin fights alongside the players and gives them protection:

  • Refulgent Bulwark – Liadrin places a Light barrier in the center of the hall for the intermission.
  • Light's Embrace – her orbs reduce Shadow damage taken by the player who picks them up for up to 8 seconds.
  • Divine Radiance—at 100 energy, she dispels darkness and stuns Kith'ix for 8 seconds.
  • Last Light—at the start of Phase 2, this spell heals everyone to full health.

Each Divine Radiance applies an Exhausted stack to her, which weakens her defenses and triggers a soft enrage.

Phase One Adds and Abilities

Kith'ix phase one adds: raiders fight a giant aqir in the void lair

Phase 1 begins with Voidswarm, which deals Shadow damage to everyone for 6 seconds and summons a Venomous Hulk, a Voidweaver, and three Bomber Beetles. Kill the adds away from the boss, as Commanding Presence reduces damage taken by aqir within 25 yards of him by 75%.

Venomous Hulk and Voidweaver

The second tank faces the Venomous Hulk away from the group, as Venom Roar deals a cone of Nature and Physical damage and knocks players back. Nightfall, cast by the stationary and grip-immune Voidweaver, hits everyone and becomes 20% stronger with each hit. The Hulk is positioned near the Voidweaver to kill both with a cleave.

Bomber Beetles and Eggs

Three Bomber Beetles fixate on players and explode with Gut Reaction upon contact or after 30 seconds. The Death Knight pulls them toward the Hulk one at a time, waiting for the Digestive Juices DoT from the explosion to wear off. After Heroic and Mythic Incubation, four eggs remain from the Hulk and two from the Voidweaver. They must be destroyed before they hatch (Commanding Presence does not protect the eggs), as Mindstinger stuns the player.

Extinguish and Light's Embrace

The Extinguish cast lasts 8 seconds and ends with a lethal Shadow strike against everyone. Before it, each player takes one Light's Embrace orb. The orbs appear in the direction of the Hulk's frontal, as noted by Method. Without an orb, the strike must be survived with immunity or strong defensive abilities.

Fears and Tentacles

Unspeakable Horrors gives a debuff to several players, which gives Overwhelming Fear after 6 seconds. The target must move away from the group until the fear is dispelled, as dispelling the fear or its expiration triggers a scream that fades with distance. Healers must dispel the fears one at a time. Twisted Appendage tentacles highlight attack circles that players must step out of.

Dark Devastation and Voidscar

Tanks swap on each Dark Devastation (tank swap), as the attack applies the Devastated debuff to the tank and everyone within 15 yards (+150% Physical and Shadow damage for 25 seconds). On Heroic and Mythic difficulties, a Voidscar pool is at the explosion site, which deals damage and knocks players back, and releases Eclipse Fragments during the intermission. These pools are placed at the edge of the hall according to the markers.

Suffocating Darkness Intermission

Suffocating Darkness intermission: Lady Liadrin holds the Light barrier against Kith'ix

At 100 energy, Kith'ix floods the room with Suffocating Darkness, from which the group takes cover inside the Refulgent Bulwark barrier. The intermission follows its own rules:

  • Suffocation—outside the barrier, the darkness pacifies, slows, and deals damage every second.
  • Dark Frenzy—living aqir receive double attack and movement speed, immunity to CC, and a damage aura. Kill the adds and eggs before energy reaches 100.
  • Previous mechanics—Extinguish, fears, and tank swapping—continue in the tight space, though there are no new adds.
  • Divine Radiance—the intermission ends when Liadrin, at 100 energy, stuns the boss for 8 seconds.

Exhausted makes each subsequent intermission more difficult.

Abyssal Grasp Heal Absorbs

Abyssal Grasp tentacles grab random players, pull them toward the darkness, and apply a large heal absorb. If healers don't break it within 8 seconds, the player is dragged into the darkness, where they die. Grasp targets become the healers' top priority, as AoE healing won't save them.

Eclipse Fragments

During the intermission, Heroic and Mythic Voidscar pools release Eclipse Fragments that fly toward Liadrin. Players on soak stand apart and take turns, as intercepting a fragment applies a stacking DoT for 6 seconds to everyone within 3 yards. A fragment that reaches its target triggers Lost Refulgence (damage to everyone and a reduced barrier). There are four waves in the first intermission. In the second, there are five, and in the third, six.

Phase Two Eightfold Eclipse

Kith'ix phase two Eightfold Eclipse: Lady Liadrin with Last Light and Luminous Grace

Once the health is close to 25%, you can skip the safe mechanics, as the transition to Phase 2 clears all active effects. From there, the fight proceeds as follows:

  • Stygian Howl—Kith'ix stuns everyone and absorbs the adds along with active abilities.
  • Last Light—Liadrin heals the group to full health.
  • Luminous Grace—this buff grants +50% damage and healing until the end of the fight.
  • Eightfold Eclipse—during this phase, which lasts about a minute, the eclipses strike everyone one after another until the eighth one converges on Liadrin and kills the group.

I recommend saving Bloodlust, potions, and long cooldowns until 25%, since Luminous Grace amplifies their effects until the end of the fight.

Null Gates and Nullshards

Null Gate marks three players (melee, ranged, and healer) for 5 seconds, placing gates under them. The gates strike players within 5 yards and scatter Nullshards. Each hit applies a stack of Nullify, which is lethal when multiple stacks accumulate. Icy Veins suggests two gate strategies (counterclockwise around the edge or by role with the boss in the center).

Negation Tank Swap

Negation gives the active tank +100% movement speed, increased Physical damage, and immunity to Nullshards for 8 seconds, then kills the tank. The second tank uses Taunt while the first runs into the Null Gate. Touching the gate removes the debuff and triggers Explosive Restabilization, which hits everyone and destroys the gate and shards within 10 yards.

Tips for Each Role

Tips for each role on Kith'ix: tank, healer and DPS characters

Each role in the fight against Kith'ix faces its own main risk:

  • Tanks—they're threatened by Voidscar pools and Negation.
  • Healers—they must deal with Abyssal Grasp and fears.
  • DPS—they must handle Voidweavers, eggs, and beetles.

Failing to execute your role's mechanics affects the entire group.

Kith'ix Tank Guide

Tank responsibilities change throughout the fight:

  1. One tank places each Venomous Hulk on the Voidweaver, facing away from the group.
  2. The second tank holds the boss and switches with the first tank on each Dark Devastation.
  3. According to the Method strategy, tanks place the two Phase 1 Voidscar pools on a single mark and the intermission pool on a separate mark.
  4. Negation in Phase 2 requires a taunt and running into the Null Gate.

Tanks assign Voidscar marks before the pull.

Healer Tips

Healer tasks are tied to mechanics:

MechanicsHealer Tasks
Overwhelming FearDispel after the target moves away
Abyssal GraspTop priority during the intermission
ExtinguishRaid cooldowns
Late intermissionsRaid cooldowns during Exhausted
Phase 2Rotation based on eclipses

Healers assign fear targets before the pull.

DPS Tips

DPS should target the Voidweaver first, then cleave the Hulk and the Incubation eggs before they hatch. The Bomber Beetle target should lure the beetle away from the group so it doesn't collide with anyone. Each DPS should take a Light's Embrace orb before Extinguish. In Phase 2, do not stand near the gates for extra damage, as Nullshards fly out of them.

Kith'ix Heroic and Mythic Changes

Kith'ix Heroic and Mythic changes: Bomber Beetle with Nullify and Negation

Heroic introduces Incubation eggs, Voidscar pools, and Eclipse Fragments to the fight. Mythic further increases the severity of Nullify and Negation and changes the group size:

MechanicsNormalHeroicMythic
IncubationnoneHulk and Voidweaver eggsplus Bomber Beetles
Voidscar and Eclipse Fragmentsnonepresentpresent
Lethal Nullify stacks653
Negation8 sec8 sec12 sec, three gates
Group size10-3010-3015-25

Method pulls the beetles toward the Hulk so that their eggs on Mythic are concentrated in a single spot under the cleave.

Does Kith'ix Award Ahead of the Curve?

Does Kith'ix award Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek and the Ahead of the Curve achievement

Blizzard has tied the season's Ahead of the Curve achievement to Heroic Ula'tek in The Venomous Abyss. Kith'ix gives his own achievements (Kith'ix, Heroic: Kith'ix, and Mythic: Kith'ix) along with Guild Run versions. In Season 1, the single-boss raid The Dreamrift gave its Ahead of the Curve, Cutting Edge, and Hall of Fame achievements for Chimaerus, the Undreamt God. All three seasonal awards remained with Ula'tek, since the new raid did not receive its own:

AchievementRequirement
Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tekHeroic Ula'tek
Cutting Edge: Ula'tekMythic Ula'tek
Hall of Fame: Ula'tekthe first 200 guilds

In the Ahead of the Curve: Ula'Tek service, our team kills Heroic Ula'tek with you (Starter Option with boss summon, the last two bosses, or 8/8). You can earn the achievement before the start of Season 3 with Patch 12.2.

Cutting Edge and Glory Rewards

Mythic Ula'tek and the Glory of the Venomous Raider meta offer the following rewards:

  • Venom's End - Mythic Ula'tek gives this title along with Cutting Edge: Ula'tek.
  • Primeval Skyfriend - this mount drops from Mythic Ula'tek with an unknown drop rate.
  • Crimson Venomfang - this mount is earned by completing the meta consisting of eight achievements from The Venomous Abyss on Normal or higher.
  • Ula'took - this pet is awarded for the No Egg Scramble achievement from this meta.

The old meta name (Glory of the Venomous Abyss Raider) is left over from the PTR.

What Is the Next WoW Raid?

What is the next WoW raid: The Worldcore and Xal'atath in patch 12.2 Eclipse

The next raid will be The Worldcore from Patch 12.2 Eclipse, where eight bosses (Titan defenders and Xal'atath's lieutenants) lead up to the boss encounter against Xal'atath. Blizzard has not announced an exact release date for the new WoW raid. The BlizzCon 2026 roadmap places Eclipse and Season 3 in the winter, which Blizzard Watch associates with early 2027.

With this new WoW raid patch, the zone The Mantle Vault, the lair The Gearhold, and the dungeon Thraegar's Stand will open. The quest for the legendary dagger Midnight's Edge will begin in The Worldcore itself.

Spots in Heroic Group Loot - Next Raid Slot groups open every 2 hours. After payment, the system reserves the team and start time. The run then proceeds in four steps:

  1. You write your requests in the comments or in the chat, with a response time of up to 20 seconds.
  2. 15 minutes before the start, you log into the game and accept the invite.
  3. During the run, you can watch the fights or follow the leader and participate in them.
  4. The order is completed when the boss is defeated and the loot and extras are distributed. If anything is missing, our team will repeat the raid for free.

Account access is not required for this.
