Ankle Slicers Slow Effect in Forever
The Chance on hit effect slows the target’s movement speed by 30% for 6 seconds. Blizzard demonstrated this slow on the Forever Deep Dive panel at BlizzCon alongside Skullflame Shield, Stonerender Gauntlets, and the Hurricane bow. The weapon’s tooltip lists six stats:
- Epic Thrown with item level 63
- Character level 58 and above
- Damage 51–96
- DPS 40.8 at a speed of 1.80
- Stamina +9 and attack power +12
- Binds when equipped
The slow effect has a chance to trigger on a hit from the Thrown slot. It also works on targets at a distance. This allows a Warrior or Rogue to slow an enemy on the approach, before the first melee strike.
PvP Value of a Snare on Hit
A snare on hit keeps the enemy close to a melee fighter. We believe this effect offers little benefit against mobs. But a player in a battleground breaks away from melee combat to head toward a healer, a flag, or around a corner after the first strike. That's why a 6-second snare gives the fighter time to catch up to the target.
Darkspear Islands is a 15v15 battleground off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh. Teams earn points for controlling four capture points and for the flag from the center of the map. A player carries this flag to one of their team’s bases. We recommend slowing down the flag carrier with a throw along the way. Fights on this map earn Honor and Rank Points across 14 ranks, with a weekly cap.
When Level 58 World Epics Appear
World epics that require level 58 become available to players at the end of the leveling process. This threshold coincides with the lower limit of the level range for Dire Maul, Stratholme, and Scholomance. Blizzard has reworked all such items in World of Warcraft Forever, made them stronger, and added several new ones. A thrown weapon that slows enemies on hit is among these new additions. We believe it’s worth equipping this weapon at level 58 before fights on Darkspear Islands.
