What Level Do You Need for Black Dragonscale Set?

Black Dragonscale Set Changes in Forever

Blizzard has reduced the Black Dragon Mail set in Forever to three rare pieces. Any two items from the set give +1% hit chance. The full set gives an additional +2% to the critical strike chance for melee attacks, although in Classic this bonus also applied to Hunter shots. Each item gives Attack Power and Fire Resistance:

  • Breastplate - a 58 ilvl breastplate with a level requirement of 53. It gives +50 Attack Power and +12 Fire Resistance.
  • Shoulders - characters can equip these shoulder pads from level 55 and gain +40 Attack Power. They were among the most popular rare items in the Forever database.
  • Leggings - the most powerful piece, with +54 Attack Power and +13 Fire Resistance. These 62 ilvl leggings require level 57.

The Classic version consisted of four pieces and gave +10 Fire Resistance for all four. Its fourth piece was the Black Dragonscale Boots. Blizzard kept them in Forever as a separate epic item with +24 Fire Resistance. The new epic Black Dragonscale Helm is also not part of the set. That’s why you receive the full set bonus with the three pieces from our order without having to search for the boots or the helm.

Dragonscale Leatherworking and Black Scales

Dragonscale Leatherworking specialization unlocks the patterns for all three pieces for leatherworkers. Players choose it at a Leatherworking skill level of 225. The threshold for the patterns in Forever is lower than in Classic, where leatherworkers needed a profession level between 290 and 300. Now the most difficult pattern is for the Leggings (290). Our leatherworker saves you from having to level up your profession just for the Leggings.

Black Dragonscale goes into each of the three pieces. The Breastplate and Leggings each require 60 of these scales, along with Rugged Leather, Cured Rugged Hide, and Rune Thread. Shoulders require 45 scales. The BoE binding allows our leatherworker to send you the finished pieces via mail or trade. You won’t have to farm dragons for scales.

Hunter and Enhancement Shaman Mail

We believe that Black Dragon Mail is right for Hunter and Enhancement Shaman players. Both classes wear Mail and deal damage through Attack Power. Hunters get Attack Power for their shots, Fire Resistance, and +1% hit chance for any pair of items from this set. The critical strike bonus for three pieces in Forever has a melee restriction. That’s why we recommend the full set for melee Shamans.
