Blackblade of Shahram Proc Effects
Blackblade’s proc in Classic summoned the spirit of Shahram upon a melee hit. This spirit applied one of six random effects and then disappeared. Half of the effects buffed the sword’s owner or their group for 8–20 seconds: Will of Shahram, Fist of Shahram, and Blessing of Shahram. Will of Shahram increased all of the character’s stats by 50 for 20 seconds. This proc gave the owner a combat bonus without any extra actions.
The other three effects struck enemies around the sword’s owner. Might of Shahram stunned these enemies for 5 seconds. The slow from Curse of Shahram lasted 10 seconds. We consider this crowd control to be the most useful part of the proc in dungeons, because it holds back the entire group of mobs after a pull. Flames of Shahram dealt fire damage to this group.
General Drakkisath Drops in UBRS
Drakkisath guards the Spire Throne at the end of Upper Blackrock Spire for levels 59–60. This final boss enters the fight with two Chromatic Elite Guards. Killing him gives your character a chance to earn other rewards as well:
- T0 Chestpieces - the boss’s loot includes one such chestpiece for each class, such as Shadowcraft Tunic for Rogues. The drop rate for each of these ranged from 5% to 12% in Classic.
- Draconian Deflector - this shield for tanks dropped in Classic with a drop rate of around 22%.
- Blood of the Black Dragon Champion - a character with the attunement quest takes this blood on the same kill. Both factions trade it for Drakefire Amulet to gain access to Onyxia’s Lair for 40 players.
T0 sets (Dungeon Set 1) in Classic unlocked the final bonus at eight pieces. Blizzard has ported these set bonuses to Forever at thresholds from two to six pieces. You won’t have to collect all eight pieces just for the final bonus. We recommend sword attempts to players who collect the T0 set, as each such kill can also yield a chestpiece.
Best Classes for Blackblade of Shahram
We see Blackblade as a weapon for Warriors and Paladins. A Warrior’s Mortal Strike in Forever deals weapon damage plus 85. The Paladin’s Seal of Command adds Holy damage equal to 70% of weapon damage to the attack. That's why a slow two-handed sword with high damage per hit suits these classes. Blackblade in Classic dealt 166–250 damage per swing without any other stats.
