Blackhand Doomsaw Polearm Stats
Doomsaw in Classic is a blue (rare) two-handed polearm with an item level of 63. A character of the appropriate class can equip it from level 58. Each swing of this weapon deals 151 to 227 damage. An attack speed of 3.50 gives this two-hander a DPS of 54.
The weapon's main feature is a proc that deals 324-540 damage to the target on hit. Its tooltip in Classic does not display the chance of this proc, either as a percentage or in PPM. This BoP weapon has no primary stats such as Strength or Stamina. That allows you to compare it with any other two-handed weapon from dungeons and raids in Forever by two metrics: DPS and proc damage.
Warchief Rend Blackhand Loot Table
Rend Blackhand drops more weapons than other bosses in Upper Blackrock Spire. His UBRS loot table section includes four melee items with drop chances in Classic from 1.9% to 13% per kill:
- Felstriker - an epic dagger with a 1.9% chance in Classic. Its proc makes all attacks critical for 3 seconds.
- Dal'Rend's Sacred Charge - a main-hand sword. Its drop chance in Classic was 7.9%.
- Dal'Rend's Tribal Guardian - the off-hand counterpart to Sacred Charge, with a 13% chance in Classic. The two swords together give a set bonus of +50 Attack Power.
- Doomsaw - a two-hander with an 8.8% chance in Classic. It has the highest DPS among Rend's weapons.
Warriors, Hunters, and Paladins roll for this two-hander in random groups. Our team organizes the entire run according to your request. That's why your character takes every copy of this weapon from Rend Blackhand in Blackrock Stadium without having to roll against other players. You won't have to search for a group through the Group Finder just for a single boss.
Doomsaw Runs and the Onyxia Attunement
The Horde needs Rend's head for the For The Horde! step in the Onyxia attunement. Thrall gives this quest in Orgrimmar after Blood and Thunder from Warlord Goretooth and Warlord's Command in Lower Blackrock Spire. The final step of the quest chain leads to the same UBRS to obtain General Drakkisath's blood. We recommend that Horde Warriors, Hunters, and Paladins combine Doomsaw farming with the attunement. A single run to Rend gives them both an attunement step and a shot at the weapon.
