Bow of Searing Arrows Damage and Fire Proc
The bow retains its damage and speed from Classic in Forever. But Blizzard has buffed its Searing Arrow proc. This proc has a chance to fire a flaming arrow at the target upon a hit for 23-33 Fire damage. The Hunter receives more Fire damage from each proc than in Classic. The tooltip for this epic item in Forever contains six main stats:
- Damage 47-88
- Speed 2.70
- DPS 25
- Searing Arrow proc for 23-33 Fire
- Item Level 42
- Level Requirement 37
The fire proc deals Fire-school damage to the target. Mob armor does not reduce this damage, unlike the physical portion of the shot. The target’s Fire Resistance works against the effect.
Leveling a Hunter in Forever relies on quests. The Hunter encounters elite mobs with heavy armor there. The fire proc maintains the Hunter’s damage versus such targets from level 37.
Where Does Bow of Searing Arrows Drop
The bow is a BoE world drop from level 35-45 mobs with no specific boss, zone, or dungeon for farming it. The drop chance in WoW Classic was around 0.02% per mob. We consider solo farming too time-consuming at this rate. The BoE binding allows our team to transfer the epic item to your character before you equip it. You can buy Bow of Searing Arrows and avoid spending your evenings solo farming.
A Hunter Bow From WoW Classic
Hunters in Classic knew this bow as a mid-level epic. Blizzard replaced the flat Fire damage bonus per shot with the Searing Arrow proc back in patch 1.12 of the original game. Players valued this epic for how often that proc triggered.
Hurricane is the next bow in the lineup of Hunter world epics and requires level 48. Blizzard reworked its effect for the Forever version. Each auto-attack with Hurricane adds 6-11 Frost damage to the target. We recommend keeping the epic with the fire proc in your ranged slot from level 37 until you switch to Hurricane.
