How It Works

  1. Placing an Order

You select the region, ruleset, and faction on the service page. A Forever character cannot transfer to a world with different rules or to a different faction. Quick checkout opens the order form on the same page.
  2. Payment

The Buy now button opens the payment method selection on the website. Your ChaosBoost account balance covers up to 100% of the order price. You'll receive a personal 10% discount code after registration and enter it in the promo code field with the Apply button.
  3. Booking

Booking begins within 5 minutes in most cases. Operators assemble a team for Hall of Thanes in the world where your character plays. They will coordinate the run start time and your order preferences with you.
  4. Service Execution

The leader sends a group invitation by the start time. Rank 1 boosters will guide you through all four Hall of Thanes bosses. You'll take the axe from Durgen's body yourself, as the game binds it to your character when you pick it up.
  5. Order Completion

You'll check the run's results with the operator. They'll verify the order contents against your character's inventory and the list of extras on the service page. You can leave a review of the run later on the ChaosBoost website.

The service is complete once the axe is in your character's inventory. Our team will repeat the run for free if anything from the order is missing: a reward, a boss, or extras.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who Can Use Durgen's Crescent Axe?

The axe is suitable for Strength-based melee classes (Warrior, Paladin, and Shaman). Rogues gained access to this weapon in Forever along with the Axes skill. Their Hack and Slash talent gives a bonus for it. Hunters can equip this weapon in their main hand alongside a bow.

What Level Do You Need for Durgen's Crescent Axe?

A character from level 13 can equip this axe. This requirement matches the lower bound of Hall of Thanes (13–18). We recommend purchasing the axe at level 13, as it will serve you throughout the entire dungeon range. Characters above level 18 can also take this item for transmog purposes.

Is Durgen's Crescent Axe Worth It in WoW Forever?

We believe the axe is worth it for Strength-based classes. There are no other weapons with melee stats from Hall of Thanes bosses. Fang of Magmatus and Golemheart Stave from the same bosses provide Intellect and spell power. That's why this reward remains the main goal of a Hall of Thanes run for Warriors, Paladins, and Shamans at levels 13–18.

Can Horde Characters Get the Axe?

Horde characters can also take the axe in Hall of Thanes. The Horde route there leads from Undercity through Alliance territory. It goes through Wetlands and Loch Modan to the gates of Ironforge in Dun Morogh. The entrance to Hall of Thanes hides behind a spiderweb in King Magni's hall.

Does the Run Count for Novice Spelunker?

Killing Durgen completes the Ragefire Chasm or Hall of Thanes objective in the Novice Spelunker challenge. Your character receives credit for it on our very first run. This Legacy challenge requires completing six dungeons with The Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep on the list. The account receives one Legacy point for finishing it.

Durgen's Crescent Axe Stats

The Forever tooltip describes a rare-quality one-handed axe with ID 270256. Your character equips this weapon in the Main Hand slot. Even a Warrior or Rogue with dual wield won't put it in their off-hand. All stats fit within the six lines of the tooltip:

  • Item Level 18
  • Requires Level 13
  • Damage 20–39 at a speed of 2.40
  • DPS 12.29
  • Bonus +4 Strength
  • Binds when picked up

Binds when picked up keeps the axe off the auction house. The game also won't allow you to trade it to another player. That's why our team will guide your character through Hall of Thanes to the final boss. You won't have to assemble a five-player group for each attempt or wait for a tank in Ironforge until Durgen drops the reward.

Hall of Thanes Loot From Durgen Dirgehammer

Durgen drops his loot as the fourth and final boss of Hall of Thanes. This Dark Iron leader enters the fight with two Lesser Stone Golems. He casts an AoE fear effect on the group in the middle of a hall with Dark Iron mobs. Our team handles both the golems and this fear effect while your character remains in the group. You won't have to risk a wipe near the crowd of Dark Iron mobs.

Durgen's loot table includes three additional entries alongside the axe:

Durgen's head is a special item from Hall of Thanes loot. Alliance players deliver it to King Magni Bronzebeard as part of the Old Ironforge Incursion quest. Magni gives you your choice of Calibrated Blunderbuss (gun), Ironforge Greathammer (hammer), or Deepblaze (wand). Your character will obtain the head from our Durgen kill in Reliquary of Kings if the quest is active in their quest log before the run begins. This saves you a second trip to the dungeon to see Magni.

First Named Drop in WoW Forever

We consider Durgen's axe to be the first named drop in Forever. This named weapon of the Dark Iron leader drops at the end of the earliest new dungeon in World of Warcraft Forever for characters from level 13 to 18. Hall of Thanes does not impose a lockout after a run. That's why our team can start a new attempt without waiting for a reset. We recommend that melee fighters buy Durgen's Crescent Axe at level 13 to gain Strength in their main hand.
