How to Get Quel'Serrar in WoW Forever
A player receives the sword in Forever for a quest chain in Dire Maul and the Onyxia raid. The dungeon and the raid require different groups (five players vs. 40). Our team assembles both groups for your order. You won't have to look for players for each stage of the quest chain. The path from the book to the sword consists of six steps:
- The book drops from Dire Maul bosses and unlocks the first quest in the chain.
- Your character carries it to the Athenaeum library to see Lorekeeper Lydros. Groups enter it through the West or North wing of the dungeon.
- The Lorekeeper receives the Dull and Flat Elven Blade from you there for the second quest.
- He gives you the Unfired Ancient Blade for the fight against Onyxia.
- Onyxia's breath transforms it into the Heated Ancient Blade.
- Your character plunges the heated blade into the dragon's corpse after the victory. The Lorekeeper accepts the third quest in the chain and gives you the sword.
A player can use the Unfired Ancient Blade once. The blade disappears after an accidental click outside the raid or after a wipe during the fight with Onyxia. Both errors send the character back from Dustwallow Marsh to Lydros in Dire Maul to retrieve a new blade. The Lorekeeper does not ask for a second book at this point. We recommend leaving the Unfired Ancient Blade in your bag until the raid leader gives the command.
Quel'Serrar Tank Sword Stats
This item-level 71 sword occupies the Main Hand slot for level 60 warriors and paladins. The BoP tag binds it to your character when you get it from Lydros and prevents you from selling it to other players via the auction house. Each swing of the sword deals 84 to 126 damage. A speed of 2.00 converts this range to 52.5 damage per second. This damage helps the tank maintain aggro on the boss.
The Chance on hit effect provides the tank with the weapon's main bonus. It increases the wielder's Defense by 13 and Armor by 300. The buff lasts for 10 seconds after a hit on the target. Your character takes less damage from the boss during this time. We're listing these stats from Classic, where Protection warriors and paladins used this sword as their best-in-slot weapon for this proc and the +12 Stamina.
Onyxia's Lair Requirement and Attunement
The final stage of the chain requires a 40-player raid with a single boss. Every participant in this raid must enter with the Drakefire Amulet in their bag. You won't have to remove your necklace to equip the amulet. Your character receives the amulet through a long attunement quest chain for your faction that ends with the final kill of General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire. This attunement does not transfer to your alts.
We recommend checking that the amulet is in your bag before you place the order. Your character will not be able to join the Onyxia raid without this amulet. Blizzard recommends building up Fire Resistance for the fight against the dragon. The amulet itself gives +15 Fire Resistance and +10 Stamina.
