Staff of Jordan Spell Damage From WoW Classic
WoW Classic version of the staff gave up to +26 spell damage. Most blue and green staves of the same level gave Intellect, Spirit, and Stamina without this bonus. This allowed the owner of SoJ to deal more damage with every cast.
The same bonus in Classic also boosted healing spells. SoJ itself also provided +11 Intellect and +11 Spirit. That's why mages, warlocks, and healers used this staff from level 35 to 50 and beyond. Players sold this BoE epic on the auction house for large sums of gold.
Where to Find Staff of Jordan
The staff is a BoE world drop with no fixed boss. It drops from mobs around level 38-48. That's why the time it takes to farm this epic depends on luck. The drop rate in Classic was around 0.05% per mob, such as Jungle Stalker in Stranglethorn Vale and Stromgarde Vindicator in Arathi Highlands. We recommend not building your leveling strategy around this drop.
Caster Staff for Leveling in the Forties
Staff of Jordan serves as a caster’s weapon from level 35 through the late 40s. Players clear this leveling phase in Forever by doing open-world quests. Quests are more efficient because Blizzard has reduced the experience that dungeon mobs give. SoJ suits five classes with damage and healing spells:
- Mage - the bonus applies to every Frostbolt and Fireball.
- Warlock - both Shadow Bolt and Corruption ticks deal more damage.
- Priest - Mind Blast and Flash Heal both benefit from the same bonus.
- Druid - Wrath and Healing Touch receive a boost outside of beast forms.
- Shaman - the staff enhances Lightning Bolt and Healing Wave.
A solo player in Forever can kill a standard mob in 10-15 seconds. We believe that spell damage shortens each of these fights. Blizzard has given caster weapons in World of Warcraft Forever both spell damage and healing. Bonus Healing on healer items also provides one-third of its value as a damage bonus for open-world quests. That's why a healer with this staff receives the full spell damage of the weapon.
