WoW Forever Ruins of Lordaeron Quests for Horde and Alliance

WoW Forever Ruins of Lordaeron Quests for Horde and Alliance

The WoW Forever Ruins of Lordaeron quests lead the Horde and Alliance to a new dungeon above Undercity. Each quest has a starting point, an acceptance threshold, and a reward claim point at the turn-in NPC. Horde characters choose the Slain Baron's Signet, Grave Shroud, or Monstrous Cleaver at the third of five stages of Unending Torment from Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity. Alliance players take the same items from Captain Truman inside the ruins and travel to Duskwood for the Tarnished Locket.

Blizzard lists the range for Ruins of Lordaeron in WoW Forever as 15–20. The game allows you to accept Ruins of Lordaeron quests at level 15 or 16, although the quest log shows a higher number for them. A strict minimum for entering the dungeon itself is unknown. That's why you should check the threshold for each quest with all five party members before traveling to Tirisfal Glades.

WoW Forever Ruins of Lordaeron Quests and Rewards

Most Ruins of Lordaeron quests in WoW Forever give gear on a “choose one item from several options” basis from the turn-in NPC. Reward options, chain stage, and acceptance threshold depend on the faction and the quest:

The Horde quest Unending Torment and the Alliance quest Abominable Creatures need The Baron’s head. You can take your choice of gear from the turn-in NPC after completing the relevant quest or chain step in Undercity, Stormwind, or inside the Ruins of Lordaeron. Boss loot has its own requirements (level 15 for the Segmented Spider Leg and level 19 for the Coldspire Staff).

Horde Pickups and Quest Levels

Horde Pickups and Quest Levels

The Horde in WoW Forever accepts four Ruins of Lordaeron quests from NPCs outside the dungeon. These NPCs stand in Brill, Silverpine Forest, and Undercity, and they assign their tasks to Horde characters at level 15 or 16 before the run begins:

QuestNPCLocationObjectiveMinimum
The Wrath of Rath'maelDeathguard KristofBrill in Tirisfal GladesKill the necromancer Rath'mael15
A Frightened RequestTabitha HeartweaverSilverpine ForestFind out the fate of Edward Heartweaver15
Light's JusticeMorbin LightbaneUndercityCollect 25 Intact Limbs15
The New PlagueTheodore GriffsUndercityObtain Highly Toxic Strain16

A character can accept three of these quests at level 15 from Deathguard Kristof, Tabitha Heartweaver, and Morbin Lightbane. The threshold increases to 16 for The New Plague from Theodore Griffs in Undercity. We recommend collecting all four quests before entering the Ruins of Lordaeron, because none of these NPCs stand inside the dungeon.

Unending Torment Rewards at Stage Three

Unending Torment in WoW Forever grants a choice of gear at the third of five stages. The chain begins with the Abominable Head, which drops from The Baron, and requires a Horde player to be level 16 at each step in Undercity:

  1. Abominable Head - The head drops from The Baron in the Ruins of Lordaeron and triggers the first quest in the chain, which you turn in to Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity. This apothecary pays you with experience points in exchange for the head and does not offer any gear.
  2. Othmar’s Body - Faranell recognizes the head as that of a former Alliance Grand Marshal whose name was Othmar. You follow the apothecary’s instructions with this head to the headless body in the adjacent hall, where the Unfinished Abomination itself accepts the turn-in of this step.
  3. Report and Reward - Master Apothecary Faranell accepts the report on the Unfinished Abomination’s refusal and offers one item of your choice from the following three for this quest:
    • Slain Baron's Signet
    • Grave Shroud
    • Monstrous Cleaver

Your character receives experience and money in addition to it.

  4. Three Reagents - The apothecary wants to subjugate Othmar to the Dark Lady’s will with a new potion. You must collect Toxic Skullcap in the Trade Quarter, Blisterweed from the Herbalism trainer, and Essence of Agony in the Rogues' Quarter to make this potion.
  5. Hissing Serum - The fifth step involves injecting the Hissing Serum from Faranell into a system that drips onto Othmar’s body from above in the same adjacent hall. You’ll receive experience and money for this task from him.

You can skip the fourth and fifth steps and still obtain a piece of gear of your choice from this chain. These two quests continue Othmar’s story after you receive your reward and give Horde players experience and money without new gear. The chain ends at the fifth step, where Faranell discusses new plans for Othmar.

Alliance Preparation and Follow-Ups

Alliance Preparation and Follow-Ups

The Alliance in WoW Forever travels to the Ruins of Lordaeron in Tirisfal Glades through Horde territory and finds the starting points for their quests inside the ruins. Preparation for these quests varies by how you accept them, the minimum requirement, and the turn-in location for each one:

Bloodied Insignia's follow-up takes you to Stormwind with ten insignias from mobs in the Ruins of Lordaeron. The method for accepting this quest and the first letter is unknown. That's why you check your quest log after looting the insignias from mobs and finding the Blood-Stained Letter in the ruins before leaving the dungeon.

The Letter and Tarnished Locket

The first quest Remember That I Love You leads Alliance players to Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind. Your character brings her the Blood-Stained Letter from the Ruins of Lordaeron and receives experience for this step without the Tarnished Locket or any other gear. Nightingale recognizes the name in the letter as that of Jeremy Heartweaver, whom a woman from Duskwood adopted. Tabitha Heartweaver from the Horde quest A Frightened Request in Silverpine Forest shares the same last name. Her husband Edward went missing in the ruins’ graveyard while he searched for their son’s body.

The second quest Remember That I Love You sends the character from Nightingale to Avette Fellwood in Duskwood to obtain the Tarnished Locket. Its record lists High Order Skyborne and three Alliance races (Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome). The absence of Humans from this list does not prove a ban on the race, nor does it give grounds to promise the Tarnished Locket to every Alliance character in WoW Forever. We advise Human players to turn in the first letter and check whether Nightingale offers the second quest. The ChaosBoost team will clarify the options for assistance with these quests for your faction, race, and level before you place your order.

The Crest of Lordaeron has several spawn points in the Ruins of Lordaeron. WoW Forever players have spotted it in various runs behind the door by The Baron’s hall, in the room near Bjork’s path, and on the rooftops near the Gargoyles. The coordinates, timer, and spawn rate are unknown, as is the group loot rule for this find.
