PvP Progression GuideWoW ForeverWoW Forever PvP begins with choosing a ruleset, as this determines where your character fights against the opposing faction and whether your account…We’re writing the WoW Forever Guides for the new version of the game that Blizzard is launching on November 4, 2026. This version takes you through the original continents of Azeroth up to level 60 without flying mounts and without level scaling in old and new zones. You’ll receive a familiar map with new quests at every stage of your journey.
You’ll need to rebuild your existing Classic class builds. Blizzard has added a new 16-point milestone to each talent tree. The developers have also moved talents with key buffs (such as Divine Spirit and Blessing of Kings) from the talent trees to the baseline class kit. Points for these talents are now available for you to allocate as you see fit.
WoW Forever Guides to Leveling
Old leveling guides for Classic don’t match the WoW Forever map because Blizzard has distributed over a thousand new quests along the entire path to level 60. The new Riverglades zone covers most of the levels from the mid-30s to the mid-40s with quests. Developers’ decisions also influence the leveling pace in Forever:
- Combat pace - a solo player kills a standard mob in about 10–15 seconds. That’s why you plan each pull in advance.
- Food - crafted food provides stats and a small experience bonus. You refresh its buff at a campfire.
- Tent - the Camp Tent from Leatherworking increases players’ rested experience pool in camp to 5% of a level. It has no effect if the pool is already higher.
- Mount - Forever uses the same mount cost model as Burning Crusade when you learn to ride. You receive the mount itself along with the skill.
- Well Rested - this talent from Legacy increases the standard accumulation of rested experience and its cap.
- Paladin - the class receives Holy Strike at level 6 and Consecration in the baseline kit from level 20.
Dungeon Attunement and Raid Access
City of Dalaran in the Alterac Mountains lets a group enter through the sewers after attunement. The Alliance begins attunement with the quest “An Alarming Request” from Emissary Jacques in Southshore. Horde characters receive the first quests (“Key to the City” and “Prison Break-In”) from Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill (Hillsbrad Foothills). Blizzard specifies a level range of 28–33 for this dungeon.
Forever will open three raids on December 9:
| Raid | Level | Players | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barrow Deeps | 60 | 10 | Mount Hyjal |
| Hyjal Summit | 60 | 20 | Summit of Mount Hyjal |
| Onyxia’s Lair | 60 | 40 | Dustwallow Marsh |
Onyxia’s Lair requires each of the 40 players to have the Drakefire Amulet in their inventory to enter. You receive the amulet at the end of a long faction quest chain that involves several runs through Blackrock Mountain dungeons and elite group quests with friends. We recommend completing this quest chain by December 9, because Blizzard plans to reset each raid every week.
Camping and Crafting Economy
You need a Basic Campfire from the Cooking profession for camping in WoW Forever. The campfire can hold up to three items from different players on a single shared cooldown. You receive buffs from these items for 1 hour if you sit or craft near the fire for at least 1 minute. This buff and the class-specific version of the same effect do not stack. That’s why the campfire is a lifesaver for groups without a Paladin or Priest.
Access to campfire items for each profession depends on skill:
- Skill 20 - you purchase the first items from a trainer or obtain them through quests in the starting zones.
- Skill 140 and above - Blueprints for these items drop from specific dungeon bosses. We recommend planning several runs for each Blueprint, since the boss drops it as random loot.
- Large Campfires - the cook will later learn to craft campfires that hold five or ten items.
Merchant’s Favor is the currency of the Azeroth Commerce Authority and Durotar Supply and Logistics trading camps. Players used it to purchase crafting recipes in the Forever beta. Higher-rank recipes also required reputation with the respective camp. The camps paid this currency for Waylaid Crates, which players found throughout the world and filled with one of the required sets of materials.
Where to Start After Launch
You begin your character’s journey in WoW Forever by selecting a ruleset instead of a server. Blizzard is opening Normal and PvP along with two roleplay rulesets called Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP for the November 4 launch. The developers promise to add Hardcore later as a separate ecosystem. You’ll form a group with friends within a single ruleset and a single faction.
The starting process for both newcomers and Classic veterans then involves four steps:
- Class and Race - compare the familiar options with six new class-race combinations (including Undead Paladin and Dwarf Shaman).
- Professions - choose two primary professions and all three secondary ones. Most of them give you your first campfire item at skill 20.
- Legacy - you accumulate Legacy Points across your entire account. Each character spends up to 16 of these points at the start.
- Dungeons - you’ll need a group for the new instances all the way from level 13 to 60.
Forever offers Classic veterans a Classic preset without transmog upon their first login, just like in the original 2004 version. You’ll see other players in their actual gear with this preset. New players can enable transmog later at the transmogrifier in town.
