How Boosting Works
Frequently Asked QuestionsRiding Skill Cost and Mount Level
Apprentice Riding is the first riding rank in World of Warcraft Forever. This riding skill requires a character level of 40. Your race’s trainer sells it for 100 g. The character receives their first mount for free along with it in one of the basic color schemes. You won’t have to buy your first steed from a vendor.
Blizzard has kept mount level the same as in Classic. But Blizzard has shifted the main cost in Forever from the mount itself to the training. A new color from a vendor costs 20 g versus 80 g for a steed in Classic. The Legacy Bartering perk reduces vendor prices by 5% at the first rank and 10% at the second. This allows you to save on colors for your account’s collection, but not on the 100 g cost of training at level 40.
Racial Mounts and Riding Trainer by Race
Every character trains with their race’s riding trainer at level 40. The vendor with new color schemes stands next to him. Each of the nine races has its own trainer, vendor, and mounts:
- Human - Randal Hunter trains humans in Elwynn Forest. Katie Hunter and other Horse Breeders sell four horses:
- Chestnut Mare Bridle
- Pinto Bridle
- Brown Horse Bridle
- Black Stallion Bridle from other Horse Breeders
- Dwarf - Ultham Ironhorn teaches dwarves in Dun Morogh. Veron Amberstill sells three rams there:
- Gray Ram
- White Ram
- Brown Ram
- Gnome - Binjy Featherwhistle trains gnomes in another part of Dun Morogh. Milli Featherwhistle keeps four Mechanostriders near him:
- Red Mechanostrider
- Blue Mechanostrider
- Green Mechanostrider
- Unpainted Mechanostrider
- Night Elf - Trainer Jartsam and vendor Lelanai work in Darnassus. Lelanai offers three saber-toothed cats:
- Reins of the Striped Frostsaber
- Reins of the Spotted Frostsaber
- Reins of the Striped Nightsaber
- Orc - Kildar teaches orcs in Orgrimmar. Ogunaro Wolfrunner sells three wolves there:
- Horn of the Timber Wolf
- Horn of the Dire Wolf
- Horn of the Brown Wolf
- Troll - Trolls learn from Xar'Ti in Durotar. Zjolnir sells three raptors nearby:
- Whistle of the Emerald Raptor
- Whistle of the Turquoise Raptor
- Whistle of the Violet Raptor
- Tauren - Tauren train with Kar Stormsinger in Mulgore. Harb Clawhoof sells them two kodos:
- Gray Kodo
- Brown Kodo
- Undead - Velma Warnam works as a trainer in Tirisfal Glades. Zachariah Post sells three Skeletal Horses right next to her:
- Red Skeletal Horse
- Blue Skeletal Horse
- Brown Skeletal Horse
- Skyborne - Genn Fairweather on Zephras Isle serves as both a trainer and a vendor for both factions. He sells three Galestriders:
- Empyrean Galestrider
- Stormy Galestrider
- Umber Galestrider
Mounts of other races require Exalted reputation with their faction. That's why our booster chooses the first mount of your race from the trainer. So you don’t need Exalted reputation just to get someone else’s mount.
Paladin and Warlock Mounts at Level 40
Paladins and Warlocks obtain their level 40 class mounts through quests. Alliance Paladins receive Summon Warhorse from the quest The Tome of Nobility. Duthorian Rall gives this quest in the Cathedral of Light. Undead Paladins get their own Summon Warhorse from the Forsaken Paladin quest chain.
Warlocks of both factions learn Summon Felsteed through a quest from Strahad Farsan in the tower above Ratchet in The Barrens. The descriptions for both spells in Forever no longer include the +60% speed bonus from Classic. Your alt with account-wide mounts will still need to repurchase WoW Forever Apprentice Riding.
