WoW Forever Alchemy Changes
Alchemy in World of Warcraft Forever provides players with potions, elixirs, and flasks. Blizzard has retained the profession's previous skill cap of 300. The studio has restructured the skill-up path, level-60 recipes, and the camping system around this cap. Players from Classic will notice five changes to the profession:
- Healing Potion - Blizzard has moved this line of potions to First Aid. The profession instead brews Discolored Healing Potion, which has a negative side effect.
- New Elixirs - Forever has added elixirs for Spirit, Intellect, and Spell Damage. Greater Mageblood Elixir restores 20 mana every 5 seconds.
- Alchemy Laboratory - Classic required brewing flasks at a stationary laboratory. Forever gives the alchemist a portable version for use at a campfire once they reach the profession's cap.
- Mana Well - The trainer sells this item to alchemists with a skill level of 20. Players receive mana regeneration for one hour after one minute at a campfire.
- Fermenter - This item requires a skill level of 140 and the Fermenter blueprint. It unlocks the ability to craft some reagents at a campfire.
The Fermenter blueprint drops from Rath'mael in Ruins of Lordaeron. Alchemy Laboratory also requires a blueprint from dungeon and raid bosses. Our team will max out your skill to 300 in advance. You won't have to return to crafting after you find the blueprint. Your character will set up the laboratory at the nearest campfire the very same day the blueprint appears in your bag.
Alchemy Leveling 1-300 Skill Ranks
The path to skill level 300 goes through four ranks, from Apprentice to Artisan. Your character can learn the next rank before they reach the cap of their current rank. The trainer requires the necessary level and profession points. Each of the three highest ranks also grants a Legacy point at the upper limit:
| Rank | Skill Range | Legacy Point |
|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 1-75 | None |
| Journeyman | 75-150 | Journeyman Alchemist |
| Expert | 150-225 | Expert Alchemist |
| Artisan | 225-300 | Artisan Alchemist |
The main hurdle on this path is the Artisan rank. A trainer will teach it to a character who is at least level 35 with 200 skill. Players below this threshold will hit a cap at 225 skill with no new profession points. We recommend ordering a range above 225 for a character that meets the Artisan rank's level requirements. This allows you to complete the entire path in a single order.
Alchemy Recipes and Legacy Points
Forever has added new recipes to the profession across the entire range from 1 to 300. Players can purchase some of these recipes with Merchant's Favor from vendors of Azeroth Commerce Authority and Durotar Supply and Logistics as their reputation grows. Another set of new recipes includes four flasks from the Natural series. They require Alchemy Laboratory and give bonuses in Mount Hyjal, Hyjal Summit, and Barrow Deeps.
The game gives three Legacy points from the profession once per account. A second alchemist on the same player's account does not receive these points. That's why we recommend a full run to 300 on your first character with this profession if you want all three Legacy points. Reaching skill level 300 also unlocks the purchase of Alchemy Certification for 1,000 Merchant's Favor. This item gives the Alchemist title to all characters on the account with the same profession level.
