New Cooking Recipes and XP Food
Most WoW Forever cooking dishes give +5% experience from kills. The bonus lasts 15 minutes as part of the Well Fed buff, in addition to the food's normal stats. Blizzard has even included this bonus in recipes for the earliest skill levels. This allows your character to gain more experience from each mob. Four dishes have received new effects or have appeared in Forever for the first time:
- Longjaw Mud Snapper - this simple fish now gives +10 Attack Power for 15 minutes. Characters can eat it from level 5.
- Smoked Sagefish - Blizzard replaced the old mana regeneration effect with +4 Spell Damage for 15 minutes. The recipe is available at Cooking skill 80.
- Plated Armorfish - requires a skill level of 225 and a character level of 35. This fish has received its first recipe in Forever.
- Savory Whimsyfin Delight - a 1-hour transformation that persists even in combat. This dish mirrors the concept of Savory Deviate Delight.
Players can purchase another set of recipes for Merchant's Favor. Waylaid Crates yield this currency when a character fills them and turns them in to a trading faction. Kalsey Sanden in Three Corners (Redridge Mountains) sells smoothie recipes to the Alliance for 30-90 Merchant's Favor. Aza'bek in The Barrens carries the same set for the Horde. Your character receives Spirit from these smoothies, along with an experience bonus.
Cooking 1-300 and Campfire Upgrades
Your Cooking skill determines which type of campfire your character can light at a Camping site. Other players place objects of their professions around the fire in the open world. These objects give buffs for 1 hour, access to vendors, and crafting stations. You won't have to return to town for a vendor or crafting station. The three campfire levels differ in skill requirement, capacity, and recipe source:
| Campfire | Skill | Objects | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Campfire | 1 | 3 | Cooking Trainer |
| Journeyman Campfire | 140 | 5 | Blueprint from dungeons |
| Expert Campfire | 220 | 10 | Blueprint |
Blueprint for Journeyman Campfire drops in Deadmines and Wailing Caverns. Cookie in the same Deadmines drops a blueprint for Cookie's Feast, which provides Stamina. The most complex cooking recipes require Iron Oven at skill level 300. Objects from other professions, Cookie's Feast and Iron Oven need a campfire nearby. That's why a character with the Cooking profession determines the size of the entire camp and the number of buffs players receive in a minute by the fire.
Cooking Leveling Past 150
WoW Forever cooking does not give Legacy points at skill level 150 or higher. Blizzard has reserved these points for the six major crafting professions, such as Alchemy and Tailoring. But the Master Chef perk in the Professions tree grants a 10% chance of an additional result for each of the five ranks. The fifth rank increases this chance to 50%. We consider this perk beneficial for a group or raid cook because it gives more food from the same ingredients.
