FAQ

Is The Steamvault harder than other Coilfang instances?

The Steamvault are widely concidered to be the hardest dungeon of Coilfang Reservoires on both Normal and Heroic difficuly. This dungeon has some unique boss mechanics. Hydromancer Thespia is known of being a scourge of pug Heroic groups.

Which classes benefit most from The Steamvault loot table?

Hunters can collect pieces of the Beast Lord set here to improve their pre-raid gear. Caster classes (mages, warlocks) can obtain powerful items such as Incanter's Pauldrons to increase their DPS. Tanks can pick up Devilshark Cape for a xxx boost to tanking stats. Healers will find Ring of the Silver Hand and other useful items to improve their healing.

Does The Steamvault drop items to prepare for Hydross and SSC?

Yes, The Steamvault provides many items useful for preparing for Hydross the Unstable and the SSC raid. Tanks get the protective Devilshark Cape here to increase survivability on Hydross. Other classes improve their DPS or healing with weapons and armor from this dungeon. These items do not provide direct Nature Resistance, but they significantly boost your character before battles in Serpentshrine Cavern.

Is it worth farming The Steamvault compared to The Slave Pens and Underbog?

The Steamvault is definitely worth farming, unlike The Slave Pens and Underbog at level 70. A full run of Steamvault yields much more Cenarion Expedition reputation and rare items per run than other Coilfang dungeons. The Slave Pens and Underbog are faster and easier to complete, but offer significantly less progress for pre-raid character preparation.
