Wand of the Forgotten Star

Wand of the Forgotten Star

Buy Wand of the Forgotten Star - the caster BiS wand in WoW: TBC Anniversary - and stop watching Solarian hand you Greaves of the Bloodwarder and Void Crystals week after week. You already know how this goes: the raid walks into The Eye, Solarian dies in 4 minutes, the loot table spits out everything except what you need, and the wand either goes to someone else or never shows up at all. ChaosBoost runs Solarian with a guaranteed kill and a real shot at your drop.

Key Rewards & Results

  • Wand of the Forgotten Star (ilvl 134) - epic ranged wand: 186-346 Shadow Damage, 177 DPS, +11 Spell Hit, +14 Spell Crit, +23 Spell Damage
  • BiS across multiple phases - this wand stays best-in-slot for Warlock, Fire Mage, and Shadow Priest through Phase 5, and no T6 wand beats it
  • High Astromancer Solarian kill - guaranteed kill on the third boss in Tempest Keep with full loot distribution
  • Bonus loot chance - Solarian also drops Trousers of the Astromancer, Ethereum Life-Staff, and T5 shoulder tokens (RNG-dependent, not guaranteed)

Wand of the Forgotten Star isn't just a slot upgrade - it locks down your wand slot for the rest of TBC. One item covers Spell Hit, Crit, and raw Spell Damage at once, so you stop juggling between Tirisfal Wand of Ascendancy and Eredar Wand of Obliteration depending on your hit cap.

Requirements

  • Level 70 character
  • Tempest Keep attunement (The Tempest Key)
  • Active WoW: TBC Anniversary subscription

How This Service WorksHow This Service Works

  • Pick your option and place the order

Selfplay or piloted, with wand loot priority

  • We match a booster to your class

If you're caster DPS, we slot you into a group where loot competition on the wand is minimal or zero

  • We run The Eye for Solarian

The run follows a tested route where we handle the Wrath of the Astromancer debuff and the Agent AoE phase without a single wipe

  • Kill and loot distribution

Solarian goes down, and if the wand drops, it's yours. In practice we see the drop roughly 2-3 times out of 10 runs, so we're upfront about it: the item is RNG, and we can't guarantee a drop in one lockout

  • Re-run if needed

If the wand doesn't show up, we set up another run on the next weekly reset

Service Start & Delivery

We start booking your slot right after payment. First contact with your booster usually happens within 2-10 hours - we pick whoever can run it the cleanest. Solarian is tied to Tempest Keep's weekly lockout, so timing depends on the reset schedule: pay on Wednesday after reset, and the run goes out the same day. Pay on Monday, and you either wait for the next reset or grab Express for priority start in the current lockout.

An average Solarian run from zoning into The Eye to the kill takes 12-18 minutes when we're heading straight for the third boss. A full TK run with all four bosses takes about 55 minutes.

FAQ

Gamers tend to ask the same stuff before they purchase this service - here are real questions from chat.

Is this wand actually BiS, or does something better come out later?

Nothing beats it before Sunwell. Wand of the Forgotten Star stays the top wand for every caster DPS spec from Phase 2 through Phase 5. Even Carved Witch Doctor's Stick from Zul'Aman is a downgrade. You're locking down the slot for the rest of TBC Anniversary and never thinking about wands again.

What if the wand doesn't drop?

RNG is RNG. Drop rate based on our logs sits around 22-25% per kill. We don't promise a drop in one run, but we offer re-runs on following lockouts at a discount.

I play Holy Priest - do I even need this wand?

If you ever swap to Shadow for dailies or PvP, this is the best wand for the Shadow spec, period. Holy has options with +healing, but if you want one caster wand with hit and crit that covers everything, Wand of the Forgotten Star does it. Most Holy players grab it as an offspec item.

How safe is this for my account?

On selfplay you log in yourself and play from your own PC. We just form the group and lead the run. No account access, no third-party software.

Solarian Loot Table Comparison

Wand of the Forgotten Star isn't the only reason to kill Solarian, but it's the main one for caster DPS. Here's the full breakdown of her loot table so you can gauge your odds on specific items.

Item Type Slot Who Needs It
Wand of the Forgotten Star Wand, ilvl 134 Ranged Lock, Mage, SPriest
Trousers of the Astromancer Cloth, ilvl 134 Legs Caster DPS
Void Star Talisman Trinket, ilvl 128 Trinket Caster DPS
Solarian's Sapphire Ring, ilvl 128 Finger Healer
Greaves of the Bloodwarder Plate, ilvl 134 Legs Pally, War

Loot competition on the wand slot is manageable - if you know how to manage it. In a typical pug, 6-8 casters roll on Wand of the Forgotten Star at once, and your odds drop to 12-15% even on a lucky drop. In our carry setup, you have zero competition on loot.

What is Wand of the Forgotten Star?

Wand of the Forgotten Star is an epic caster wand at item level 134 that drops from High Astromancer Solarian in Tempest Keep: The Eye. It deals 186-346 Shadow Damage at 177 DPS and provides Spell Hit Rating (11), Spell Critical Strike Rating (14), and Spell Damage (+23). That triple-stat combo makes it the undisputed BiS for Affliction Warlock, Destruction Warlock, Fire Mage, Arcane Mage, and Shadow Priest.

The point isn't that the wand looks good on paper - it solves three gearing problems in one slot. A buy through ChaosBoost is cheap compared to weeks of pugging and praying the loot system lands your way. One run with our boosters, and you either lock the slot down forever or know your exact drop rate for the next attempt.

Why Solarian Is Trickier Than She Looks

On paper, Solarian ranks as the third hardest boss in The Eye behind Kael'thas and Al'ar. But "third hardest" in this game means she's the one pugs quietly fall apart on. Void Reaver is a straight DPS check with nothing to break. Solarian needs all 25 players to understand one mechanic at the same time: if you get the Wrath of the Astromancer debuff, you run out of the stack, or 5400-6600 Arcane damage plus the air launch kills everyone within 10 yards.

Simple in theory. Every third attempt, someone stands in the wrong spot.

Solarian also has no threat table in Phase 1 and channels Arcane Missiles on a random target for 9000 damage per cast. Pug healers regularly can't keep a random cloth wearer alive at 7k HP under that pressure. At 20% HP she transforms into a massive Voidwalker with Psychic Scream - and if the raid doesn't have a Fear Ward rotation or Tremor Totem going, the tank loses control and everything falls apart. Our guys keep Fear Ward uptime at 100% through the entire Phase 3 transition because they've drilled this encounter into muscle memory.
