Where Is Blackfathom Deeps?

The dungeon lies on the shore of Zoram Strand in northwestern Ashenvale. Alliance players can reach it from Astranaar via the main road. Horde players fly to Zoram'gar Outpost on the same coast and head north from there. Players swim underwater for the final stretch to the entrance.

What Level Is Blackfathom Deeps?

Blizzard designed the BFD dungeon for characters of levels 24-32. Players can accept the Blackfathom Villainy quest as early as level 18. Argent Guard Thaelrid gives it in an alcove southwest of Ghamoo-ra. The Experienced Spelunker Legacy Challenge classifies BFD as a dungeon for levels 26-45.

How Long Does It Take to Clear Blackfathom Deeps?

The time it takes to clear WoW Forever Blackfathom Deeps depends on the number of runs and the options you select. BFD is one of the longer low-level dungeons. The game unlocks the door to Aku'mai after four waves of mobs near the braziers by the statue of Azshara. The “All Quests” option adds item collection for BFD quests to every run (for example, 20 Sapphires of Aku'Mai from the cave walls near the entrance).

Blackfathom Deeps Quests in WoW Forever

The game client links 15 Blackfathom Deeps quests to the dungeon for both the Alliance and the Horde. These quests grant your character experience and rewards upon completion. Some of these are available to a single faction or class. Warlocks take on the class quest The Orb of Soran'ruk, which requires three Soran'ruk Fragments from this dungeon and a Large Soran'ruk Fragment from Shadowfang Keep. But both factions hunt for the head of Twilight Lord Kelris in the Blackfathom Villainy quest.

Blizzard has reduced the experience from dungeon mobs in World of Warcraft Forever. A group loses the remaining experience from trash mobs and bosses if even one member is many levels higher than the mobs. That's why characters in BFD level up through quests. Our team completes the objectives of your faction's BFD quests on every run with the “All Quests” option. You won't have to assemble a separate group just to collect ten Twilight Pendants or kill Lorgus Jett.

Blackfathom Deeps Location and Bosses

Blackfathom Deeps is Elune's underwater temple in Ashenvale for levels 24-32. The dungeon features eight bosses along the path from Ghamoo-ra to Aku'mai. Baron Aquanis appears there when a Horde player with the Amongst the Ruins quest takes the Fathom Core. This core lies underwater in the Twilight's Hammer area. Defeating Aku'mai is part of the Experienced Spelunker Legacy Challenge, which consists of ten dungeons:

  • City of Dalaran
  • Blackfathom Deeps
  • Gnomeregan
  • The Drowned City
  • Four wings of Scarlet Monastery
  • Razorfen Kraul
  • Krol'dok Stronghold

Each of the four wings of Scarlet Monastery takes a separate entry in this challenge. Completing the full set allows your entire account to receive one Legacy point. The Legacy system unlocks the Reins of the Spectral Bear mount at 55 out of 65 points. WoW Forever Blackfathom Deeps order completes its entry in the Experienced Spelunker challenge with a single run in a Rank 1 booster group that includes your character. This allows you to secure the Aku'mai kill without having to find your own group.

BFD Loot and Fishing Rack Blueprint

Blizzard has designated unique items from dungeon bosses as blue (Rare). This loot in BFD is BoP. The “Loot Priority” option allows your character to take these items first (from Ghamoo-ra to Aku'mai) on every run in the package. Gelihast may also drop Blueprint: Fishing Rack for Fishing skill 140. Fishermen can obtain the same blueprint from schools of fish in Azeroth's bodies of water.
