What Does BRD Shadowforge Key Unlock?

The key unlocks the BRD back door and the Shadowforge gates. Both passages shorten the path for your five-player group. This speeds up every Emperor run and Jump run through the dungeon. Our WoW Forever boost gives your character access to both passages.

What Level Do You Need for BRD Shadowforge Key?

The quest for the key is available from level 48. It is level 52 in the quest log. We recommend ordering it from level 52, where the BRD level range begins. Reaching the level 60 cap does not lock it for your character.

The spirit of Franclorn Forgewright gives this quest. Some quest steps take place inside Blackrock Depths. Our group of five players will complete those steps there alongside your character under the control of a Rank 1 booster. You won't have to assemble your own group for this part of the quest.

The Forever database stores the key from this quest under ID 11000. Blizzard has not changed this item since the Classic era. The game binds it to the character upon receipt. That's why you cannot buy it on the auction house.

What BRD Key Opens

This item fits the back door of BRD and the Shadowforge gates. The doors stand on the routes for two formats of runs:

  • Emperor run
  • Jump run

The key belongs to a single character and does not transfer to others. A group of five players needs one key holder for the entire Emperor run or Jump run route from the dungeon entrance. Our Rank 1 booster makes your character the holder. This allows you to assemble your own group for an Emperor run.

Blackrock Depths Emperor Runs

An Emperor run is a group trip to the final boss of BRD. Emperor Dagran Thaurissan's throne stands at the end of the dungeon. The key allows your group to take a shortcut to him.

The dungeon itself is suitable for level 52-60 characters in World of Warcraft Forever. Blizzard has placed 25 bosses and two rare mobs in BRD. Their loot totals 168 items in the game client. Players return here for three popular items: Hand of Justice, Savage Gladiator Chain, and Ironfoe.

Farming these items requires many runs through the dungeon. We recommend getting the key before your first one. You won't have to take the long way every time you run it. The Alliance also completes the Onyxia attunement steps in this dungeon through Marshal Windsor's quests A Crumpled Up Note and Jail Break!. This chain's final reward is the Drakefire Amulet for the 40-player Onyxia's Lair raid.
