Dalaran Sewer Key Quest Chain
The Sewer Key quest chain unlocks one of nine new World of Warcraft Forever dungeons for your character. Alliance and Horde paths converge at Image of Archmage Modera on the shore of Lordamere Lake. She gives you the key along with the Heart of Disruption quest even before your first run. This allows your group to enter the dungeon without having to make an extra run for the key. The quest order for both factions is as follows:
- An Alarming Request - Alliance players pick up this quest at the Southshore Town Hall. It leads the character to the sewer gates.
- Prison Break In - Horde players pick up this quest at Tarren Mill. There the player also receives the second quest in the chain.
- Key to the City - This quest sends the Horde to retrieve the Grimy Key from the prisoner camp by the lake.
- Dalaran Patrols - The Horde clears out patrols of mages and their elementals near the city ruins.
- Blood in the Streets - The player carries the Grimy Key along the lake shore to the sewer gates. A ward at the gates won’t let it through.
- Heart of Disruption - Each faction has its own version of this quest (Alliance, Horde). It leads the group to the dungeon’s final boss for the Arcane Mote.
Completing Heart of Disruption grants 9,400 experience and one item of your choice. The Alliance also receives +100 Kirin Tor reputation for this quest. This quest stays in the log until the group brings back the Arcane Mote from Shade of the Archmage. That’s why we recommend selecting the “+ dungeon run” option. You won’t have to look for another group for the final boss.
City of Dalaran Dungeon Access
The Sewer Key from the keyring unlocks the entrance to City of Dalaran (28-33) via the sewers in Alterac Mountains. One key holder can let all five party members through the gate. The remaining players enter the dungeon without their own chain. But each of your characters needs their own Sewer Key. The Alliance can also enter via the teleport near Image of Archmage Modera.
Horde Dalaran Attunement Changes
Blizzard has removed the Kirin Tor reputation gain for the Horde. Josh Greenfield (Aggrend) confirmed that the Horde should not receive it or full access to the mages’ city in Alterac Mountains. Horde players won’t have to spend time farming Kirin Tor. Image of Archmage Modera enchants the Horde’s Grimy Key to allow passage through her wards. The Horde turns in its Heart of Disruption at Tarren Mill to Magus Wordeen Voidglare.
