How to Get UBRS Key
Vaelan gives you the key in Lower Blackrock Spire after you complete two of his quests. This NPC stands in the guise of an orc on a ledge to the left of the entrance to Hordemar City. He offers the first quest to characters with an unadorned seal in their bags. The path to the ring begins with five steps in Classic:
- Unadorned Seal of Ascension - LBRS trash mobs
- Gemstone of Spirestone - Highlord Omokk
- Gemstone of Smolderthorn - War Master Voone
- Gemstone of Bloodaxe - Overlord Wyrmthalak
- Vaelan’s first quest
Each gem binds to the character when you loot it. That's why any future key owner runs LBRS to obtain their own gems. Our pilot collects the seal and all three gems on your character. He completes several runs through LBRS alongside a team of Rank 1 boosters. You won’t have to look for a group for the final boss of the Lower Spire before your first run in UBRS.
UBRS Attunement Steps
Vaelan’s first quest starts the attunement and takes the seal with three gems. The second quest with the same name hands you Vaelan’s Gift, which contains a seal blank and an Orb of Draconic Energy. This orb gives a few seconds of control over the ancient drake Emberstrife in the Wyrmbog in southern Dustwallow Marsh. His flames transform the seal blank into a finished seal, which Vaelan exchanges for the ring to the UBRS door. Our booster completes both parts of the quest chain on your character.
Seal of Ascension for Onyxia Attunement
The key to Upper Blackrock Spire leads to the final step of the Onyxia attunement for both factions. Haleh in Winterspring for the Alliance and Rexxar for the Horde exchange the Blood of the Black Dragon Champion from General Drakkisath for the Drakefire Amulet. This amulet unlocks the entrance to Onyxia’s Lair (one of the three raids in World of Warcraft Forever). That's why you may need the seal even before your first 40-player raid. Having your own ring saves you from having to find someone else’s before every fight with Drakkisath.
