Wailing Caverns Quests in WoW Forever
Wailing Caverns quests consist of ten tasks that reward experience and gear. NPCs in Ratchet, Thunder Bluff, and at the entrance give most of them. The game gives Horde characters the Leaders of the Fang quest chain from Nara Wildmane and the Serpentbloom quest in addition to the common ones. This allows Horde players to earn more experience in a single run.
Our team completes the quests from the option alongside you as you progress through the dungeon. The group leader runs the dungeon so that your character obtains the four Fanglord gems for Leaders of the Fang. Dungeon mobs give 20 Deviate Hides for Nalpak. Glowing Shard from the final boss also triggers the quest The Glowing Shard. You won’t have to go back into the caverns a second time just for a single quest item.
Wailing Caverns Loot and Embrace of the Viper
The five leather pieces of Embrace of the Viper remain the main reason for repeat runs. They drop from various bosses and dungeon mobs and are BoP. That’s why our team collects the full set piece by piece in a separate Items listing. You won’t have to gather a group for every attempt. Blizzard has replaced the Classic caster bonuses (+7 to Nature damage and +11 to healing) with new ones for Forever:
- Two pieces - the bonus gives the character +10 Intellect.
- Three pieces - the set adds +10 Attack Power for melee damage.
- Four pieces - damage you take at 25% health or lower triggers a restoration of 100 health and mana. The effect lasts 5 seconds and can trigger once every 5 minutes.
- Five pieces - melee attacks receive a chance to apply Dream Venom and stun the target for 1 second.
- Snake Form - the full set transforms a druid’s Cat Form into a snake in their race’s color. The set’s tooltip does not mention this form.
Lord Serpentis gives a chance at Footpads of the Fang (ilvl 22, available at level 17). This same boss drops the cooking recipe Blueprint: Journeyman Campfire for the shared camp where players of other professions place their structures. Journeyman Campfire holds five camp features instead of three. The same blueprint also drops in The Deadmines. But Wailing Caverns is closer to Horde territory than Westfall.
Wailing Caverns Bosses and Level Range
Wailing Caverns is a dungeon in The Barrens for levels 17-24 with eight bosses. The rare Deviate Faerie Dragon does not appear in the caverns on every run. Blizzard has updated the loot for these bosses in Forever. Killing the final boss Mutanus the Devourer counts Wailing Caverns toward the Novice Spelunker achievement, which consists of six dungeons for levels 15-25. This achievement is worth one Legacy point for your entire World of Warcraft Forever account.
